Nexus Letter Services

A Nexus Medical Opinion is an independent medical opinion that explains the medical relationship between your diagnosed condition and your military service or a service-connected condition.

Your Nexus Medical Opinion includes review of the medical evidence that is relevant to the specific condition being addressed, which may include service treatment records, military records, VA medical records, private medical records, diagnostic testing, imaging, medication history, prior VA decisions, and lay or witness statements.

Our standard turnaround time is 7–10 business days after all required records have been received.

Please note: we review only the medical evidence related to the condition for which the Nexus Medical Opinion is being written. We do not review unrelated conditions or provide opinions on additional medical issues during the same service.

Each Nexus Medical Opinion is limited to the specific condition discussed during your consultation. Requests for additional medical opinions, additional conditions, or separate medical advice will require a new consultation.

A clinical evaluation and completion of an appropriate Disability Benefits Questionnaire within the provider’s scope of practice and supported by the veteran’s medical history and examination findings.

A DBQ does not establish service connection by itself and does not guarantee a VA disability rating.

This is a 20-minute consultation designed to review your VA claim and the medical evidence related to the condition(s) you would like to discuss.

During your consultation, you can:
